Anna Tiplady – MSc in Process Safety & Loss Prevention, University of Sheffield
Anna
Tiplady started her MSc in Process Safety and Loss Prevention in 2007 at the
University of Sheffield. The modules complemented her previous mechanical
engineering experience with chemical engineering knowledge and best practice
process safety methodologies. Taking the course part time over two years
meant that she could continue at work and care for her young daughter. She
is appreciative of the financial support for her studies given by the
Panasonic Trust scheme run by the Academy.
Anna Tiplady says: “I am passionate about the
strategic management of ageing assets in industry. This is an essential part
of process safety management, especially important to the future of
manufacturing in the UK. The know-how I gained from the course helped me to
understand how to develop and implement comprehensive and cost effective
strategies using proven methodologies.”
“Ten years after graduating as a
mechanical engineer I was proud to receive my Masters degree
with my husband and daughter at my side. I am grateful for their
patience and support during my studies. Most of all I am
thankful to the Panasonic Trust whose assistance made it
possible.”
